Almost £5,000 has been raised for a young aspiring bodybuilder who was killed in a tragic New Year’s Day crash on the A404.

Friends of 20-year-old Jordan Coupland set up a crowdfunding campaign to help pay for a funeral for the rugby player, who played for the London Wasps Academy.

The campaign, which started off raising £2,000, has raised £4,919 in just two days, with the number steadily increasing every day.

Jordan’s loved ones are now hoping to raise £6,000.

Family friend Debs Bowles said: “Jordan was a kind hearted gentle giant who had a passion for bodybuilding pushing himself to his limits, he would always help anyone out and will be missed by so many people.

“Jordan will always be in our hearts and thoughts and our world will simply not be the same without him.

“All money raised will go directly towards his funeral to give him the send-off he so rightly deserves.”

A spokesman from the London Wasps Academy said: “We were saddened to learn of the death of Jordan.

“He showed great promise as a young rugby player whilst he was with Wasps Academy before moving on and becoming more focused on bodybuilding and powerlifting.

“We all send our condolences to Jordan’s family and friends.”
