A swan crashed through a car windscreen on the A404 this afternoon.
There were delays on the dual carriageway following the incident, which saw the bird smash into the vehicle at around 3.30pm.
An eyewitness said the birds were wandering on the road, with one then becoming "embedded" in a car windscreen.
Thames Valley Police and Swan Support were called to the road amid reports of "four to five" swans causing "major disruption" and confirmed that the bird that had flown into the windscreen sadly died on impact.
The driver was not injured.
Three remaining swans were taken to Swan Support, which provides rescue and care for swans in the Thames Valley and surrounding area.
