A “multi-vehicle” crash on the M40 caused traffic chaos this morning.
Two lanes were closed going northbound between J3 (Loudwater) and J4 (Handy Cross) until 8.55am after the vehicles crashed, leaving one car stranded in the middle lane and traffic going past in lane one.
Highways England said there were delays of at least 60 minutes as a result.
Emergency services were at the scene and drivers were asked to consider alternative routes as well as allow extra time for journeys.
All lanes have now been opened and Highways England said delays towards High Wycombe are slowly easing.
Thanks to @tvprp @Bucksfire .. Collision cleared #M40 (N) J3 - J4 ... delays towards High Wycombe (J4) are now steadily reducing... All lanes OPEN.
