The final episode of Marlow resident Tom Kerridge’s new TV show saw a nurse from Bucks take on an epic skydive challenge to raise money for charity.

Sam Goodman, a nurse at Bucks Healthcare Trust, took on the 12,000ft challenge on BBC 2’s Lose Weight For Good, to raise money for Bucks-based Scannappeal, which buys medical equipment for the county’s hospitals, including Wycombe, Amersham and Stoke Mandeville.

She raised £300 for the charity.

Speaking about the Michelin-starred chef, Ms Goodman said: “Tom is such a nice guy. When you meet him you immediately feel you’ve made a new friend.

“He was a fantastic support to us all and having lost 12 stone himself could understand the journey we were on.

“I loved being part of the programme and especially enjoyed seeing behind the scenes and how hours of filming translates to the screen.

“Being able to film my skydive was an added bonus and it was a great privilege to fly the Scannappeal flag.”

She took on the skydive while filming for the show in June last year.

Scannappeal director Karen Shardlow said: “Tom is a dedicated patron of the charity and to find out that one of our brave sky divers was going to feature on his programme was very exciting for us all.

“We’ve been glued to the TV every Wednesday evening, with many of the team experimenting with his recipes.

“We hope seeing Sam on TV might inspire others to jump, or take on another challenge, for Scannappeal.”
