The family of the man whose body was pulled out of the water at a popular High Wycombe park have now been informed of his tragic death - but he has still yet to be formally identified.

Dog walkers and runners were shocked to find a huge police presence at The Rye on Wednesday morning.

It was later confirmed by Thames Valley Police that the body of a man had been found in the water just after 8.15am.

The death of the man is currently being treated as unexplained but not suspicious.

Emergency services were at the water's edge for a number of hours, with forensic officers shielding the scene from onlookers with boards and blue sheets.

Two fire crews from High Wycombe also assisted police at the scene for around 20 minutes.
