Pupils and staff at a school in Wooburn Green had a taste of different cultures this week.

Jeannette Colby, the special education needs co-ordinator at The Meadows School, said children and staff “embraced” diversity at its “very successful” International Day yesterday.

Pupils were tasked with a half-term art project, the results of which were displayed at the school, and different dishes were served to give them a taste of other cultures’ cuisines.

Children performed a dance and were treated to live drumming.

Ms Colby said: “I was just amazed at the quality of the projects that the children did. They were absolutely beautiful.”

“It has been really, really good. The children very much enjoyed it.

Head teacher Jo Moore said she was “amazed” at the standard of the children’s projects, adding: “There was a real buzz and excitement in the school and our pupils had an excellent opportunity to learn about different cultures and countries.

“The standard of [the projects] has been absolutely phenomenal.”
