Residents planning on hosting a street party to celebrate the much-anticipated royal wedding this year will not have to pay a fee.

To mark the marriage of HRH Prince Harry and Meghan Markle on May 19, Bucks County Council has waived the fee usually imposed on closing streets for public celebrations.

However residents must still notify BCC by April 19 if they wish to host a party.

Deputy leader of BCC, Mark Shaw, said: “The waived street party fees mean that this is a great chance for communities to come together in celebration of the royal wedding. I hope lots of people will take advantage of this opportunity to commemorate the big day.”
