Villagers have been invited to have their say on future plans for Chalfont St Giles, including development in the area.
Chalfont St Giles Parish Council is putting together a draft Neighbourhood Plan containing a range of policies including housing, community facilities, economy, green spaces and planning contributions.
A public consultation will run until 5pm on Monday, April 9 and Chiltern District Council has asked residents, businesses and landowners to send in their views.
CDC’s cabinet member for sustainable development said: “The forthcoming consultation on the draft Neighbourhood Plan will allow local residents and business to have their say before the Plan proceeds to an independent examination.
“The council is committed to engaging with our communities on issues that matter to them and I would encourage the community to get involved, give us their comments and help shape the future of Chalfont St Giles Parish.”
The draft plan can be downloaded at chiltern.gov.uk or can be viewed at the CDC office in Amersham, Chalfont St Giles Community Library, and in the Jordans Village Store.
Once the draft plan is complete it will be submitted to an independent examiner for consideration.
Depending on the outcome of the review a referendum will be held to decide whether the plan should be brought into effect.
If more than 50 per cent of residents who vote support the plan, it will then have to be used by the council to assess and make decisions on planning applications in Chalfont St Giles.
