Police have cordoned off a section of woodland in Loudwater in connection with an "ongoing investigation" after a man was arrested, it has been confirmed.
The cordon is in place on Boundary Road, from next to BC Softwear to close to the M40 bridge - with officers carrying out search activity.
There are currently four marked police vehicles - two parked at Dreams - and an unmarked police van and car on the scene, with officers seen walking up steps into the woodland.
The search follows the arrest of a 28-year-old man from Wooburn Green on Thursday on suspicion of being in possession of a firearm and is currently in police custody.
Eyewitnesses reported seeing armed police with dogs searching a car park and woodland.
A statement from Thames Valley Police said: "There may be some minor disruption to people in the local community, and officers are grateful for everyone’s patience while they carry out this work.
"If anyone wishes to raise any issues, please call our 24-hour enquiry centre on 101 to speak to a member of the neighbourhood team."
The search is not linked to a Christmas Eve "shooting" in Loudwater, police have confirmed.
