An image of a man has been released after a teenage girl was sexually assaulted on a bus in High Wycombe.

The 15-year-old was on the number 37 Arriva bus which was travelling from the retail park on the A40 in High Wycombe to Bourne End railway station on February 19 when the attack happened.

She got on the bus near the retail park between 7.30am and 8am and shortly afterwards, a man got on the bus and sat close to where the victim was standing.

He then touched her inappropriately and moved closer to her.

The man is described as being white, about 5ft 7ins tall with a skinny build and aged in his thirties.

He has ginger hair which was cut short and had facial hair on his chin.

He was wearing a hat or a hood and a blue, white and black chequered jacket with the zip undone and was wearing a dark pair of trousers.

He had a piercing in the septum of his nose and also had silver stretcher earrings in both ears, each one about the size of a five pence piece.

The offender may have had other facial piercings and spoke with an Eastern European accent.

Fortunately, the girl was not injured.

Investigating officer, PC Joe Bateman, based at High Wycombe police station, said: “This was a very distressing incident for the victim, and I am hoping that someone recognises the man depicted in this E-Fit image.

“The bus was full of people at the time this incident occurred, so I would ask that anyone who recognises this man or has information about him to call the Thames Valley Police non-emergency number on 101.”
