It is “too soon” to say what will happen to empty council buildings if plans for a “super authority” in Buckinghamshire are approved, according to council chiefs.
Last week secretary of state for communities and local government, Sajid Javid, backed proposals to create a single-unitary authority in the county – raising questions over plans for the district and county council buildings.
However Wycombe, South Bucks and Chiltern District councils have all said it is “far too early to say what may or may not happen with council offices across the county”.

A spokesman for Bucks County Council (BCC) added it will be down to the new authority to decide what happens to the buildings, if parliament backs plans for the unitary authority later this year.
Last week BCC leader, Martin Tett said he would be “disappointed” if the unitary headquarters are not based in the county town of Aylesbury.
A public consultation has been launched and residents have until May 25 to submit their views to Government by emailing sajid.javid@communities.gsi.gov.uk
