Pop rock band The Magic Numbers is set to headline this year’s Ramblin’ Roots Revue in High Wycombe ahead of its UK tour.

Music fans could get a sneak preview of the band’s new album, Outsiders, at the three-day festival on April 6.

The Magic Numbers’ fifth album, expected to release on May 11, marks a return for the band after a three-year hiatus.

Two sets of siblings – Romeo and Michele Stodart, and Sean and Angela Gannon – make up the band, which was formed in 2002 and received a Mercury Music Prize nomination for its debut album.

It went on to sell more than a million records.

One of the festival’s organisers, Tristan Tipping, said: “We’re thrilled to have The Magic Numbers as our Friday headline.

“They’re great songwriters and are renowned for their melodic tunes and sublime harmonies.

“It’s a great chance to see this excellent band ahead of their UK tour.”

The festival returns to Bucks New University’s students’ union, in Queen Alexandra Road, from April 6-8 following the success of last year’s event which attracted more than 1,000 music lovers.

The bill boasts more than 35 roots, Americana, bluegrass and alt-country acts from the US, UK and Europe across three stages.

Weekend tickets, including breakfast on Sunday, are £32.50 with Friday night (£15), Saturday (£20) and Sunday (£8) tickets also available separately.
