Police are still searching for a missing pensioner after a fresh appeal was launched yesterday after CCTV images were released of the 81-year-old man.

Joseph Arthur was last seen in the Spade Oak pub in Coldmoorholme Lane, Bourne End, between around 4.30-5pm on Monday.

The images show him near the pub at around 5pm.

Search teams scoured the River Thames in Bourne End yesterday (Tuesday) afternoon in a bid to find Mr Arthur, who is from High Wycombe and is a regular visitor to The Rye and Downley Common.

Sergeant Steven Westbrook, from High Wycombe police station, said: “We remain concerned for Mr Arthur’s welfare, as he has been missing overnight.

“Officers are continuing to carry out search activity in the area and enquiries are ongoing to attempt to locate him.

“We are releasing these CCTV images in the hope a member of the public in or around the local area has seen Mr Arthur.

“If you have any information about his whereabouts, regardless of how insignificant you think it may be, please contact police.”
