Kind-hearted bank staff are set to walk 15 miles from Windsor to Marlow to raise money for charity.

The HSBC Premier team at the Windsor branch want to raise awareness of and money for the Alzheimer’s Society.

Bel Ismajli, who will join her colleagues on the walk tomorrow (Wednesday), said the banking giant wanted to be dementia-friendly and in 2016, launched a three-year strategic partnership with Alzheimer’s Society and Alzheimer Scotland.

She said: “We understand how under-funded the charity is. We think it’s important to raise as much money and awareness of the condition and the charity’s work.

“As part of HSBC’s partnership, we as a team would love to raise awareness and as much funds as possible for the Alzheimer’s Society.

“Alzheimer’s Society is transforming the landscape of dementia forever.

“Until the day we find a cure, we will create a society where those affected by dementia are supported, accepted and able to live in their community without fear or prejudice.”

The team will start the walk at 9.30am from the HSBC Windsor branch, going on to Slough, then Maidenhead and hoping to finish at the Marlow branch, in the High Street, in the afternoon.

HSBC will match whatever is raised on the day.
