A man in his 60s has died after a fatal crash on the M40 yesterday (Friday) morning.

At around 6.20am, a blue Audi A4 was involved in a crash with a white articulated lorry between J1A (M25) and J2 (Beaconsfield) going northbound.

The driver of the Audi, a man in his 60s, was treated by paramedics at the scene. He was taken to Wexham Park Hospital where he sadly died.

Police said his next of kin have been informed.

The lorry driver was uninjured.

Drivers were stuck in hour-long queues following a double crash on the busy stretch of the motorway.

Investigating officer, PC Jim Lovell of Thames Valley Police's Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “We are investigating the circumstances of this collision in which a man has died.

“Our thoughts are with his family at this difficult time.

“We are appealing for witnesses and would like to speak to anybody who saw the collision itself or either vehicle travelling prior to the collision.

“If anyone has dash cam footage of the incident or the moments leading up to it we would ask them to contact us as well.”
