A 13-year-old Marlovian is “living his dream” of being a DJ.

Luke Brinkworth was hosting parties at home at the age of nine with CDs and a light show, and would regularly be asked to host parties for his friends at their houses.

His first payment was for £10, which he gave back to his friend as a birthday present.

He has since been asked to host the Year 6 leavers’ production at his school, Great Marlow, and also played at his mother’s 40th birthday party at the Royal British Legion.

Luke is set to show off his talents at a wedding later this year.

Proud mum Sharon Gunn said: “Luke has always shown interest in music, and his dream has always been to have a career in the music industry.

“As a young boy, he learnt all about plugs and wires from attending the Cheeky Monkeys toddler group, where he always offered to help pack up and wanted to know how everything worked.

“[After her birthday party] he started to be noticed by other adults and children as word spread about his talent.

“He has now hosted, 18th, 30th, and 40th birthday parties, as well as Halloween discos for a local school. He’s amazing.

“I make sure he does all his homework though.”
