Wycombe Wanderers will play host to an inter-mosque football tournament to celebrate Ramadan this weekend.

The eight-a-side match is open to teams from six mosques in High Wycombe and will take place at Adams Park at night to allow players who are fasting to eat and drink following their matches and before dawn.

The holy month of Ramadan in 2018 began yesterday evening (Tuesday) and ends in the evening of Thursday, June 14.

The inter-mosque tournament will take place this Saturday, May 19, from 11.40pm and will finish at 2am on Sunday morning.

A pre-dawn meal – a Sehri - will also be provided at the event.

The tournament has been organised by Wycombe Wanderers Sports & Education Trust – the charitable arm of Wycombe Wanderers FC - and the Berks and Bucks FA.

For more information about the tournament and to enter teams, email Paul.Foley@wwfc.com at Wycombe Wanderers Sport and Education Trust or Simon.Wears@Berks-BucksFA.com, football development manager at Berks and Bucks FA.
