Royal bride-to-be Meghan Markle could stay in a £2,000 cottage in the grounds of a luxury Bucks hotel the night before her wedding to Prince Harry, it is understood.

According to national reports, Ms Markle could spend her last night as a single woman in the exclusive Spring Cottage, on the Cliveden House Hotel estate, for which prices start from £2,055 per night.

She will be staying at Cliveden with her mother, Doria Ragland, who is now a firm favourite to walk her down the aisle after her father, Thomas Markle, is unlikely to make it after his heart surgery.

The three-bedroom cottage sleeps up to six guests – possibly Ms Markle’s bridal party – and has a large country kitchen with an Aga and two lounges with open fireplaces.

It will offer Ms Markle and her party complete privacy, away from the prying eyes of the main hotel guests.

She will travel to Windsor Castle by car on the day of the wedding and will, again, be joined by her mother, Kensington Palace confirmed.

Prince Harry will spend his last night as a single man at the Dorchester Collection’s Coworth Park, in Ascot, with best man and brother Prince William.

The couple is due to wed at the St George’s Chapel on May 19, with the wedding service starting at 12pm.
