Two women and a young girl were injured in a car crash on a notorious accident blackspot yesterday afternoon.

Two cars crashed on Sheepridge Lane, which runs between Flackwell Heath and Little Marlow, at around 4pm on Monday - leaving three people injured.

Firefighters and South Central Ambulance worked at the scene while Thames Valley Police shut the road off to other drivers.

The road has previously been dubbed "dangerous" by councillors and residents living along the winding lane, who have witnessed dozens of crashes over the years.

In 2015, after a spate of crashes on the road - which included two overturned cars in different accidents just three hours apart - calls to lower the 60mph speed limit to 40mph were made.

At the time, Ivan Smith, who lives along the road at Pigeon House Farm, said accidents happen outside his property regularly.

He said: “It has been an ongoing issue for about two or three years now. I don’t see why, as residents, we should keep running the gauntlet. It is very worrying."

Yesterday's two-car crash followed a number of accidents in the area, including two incidents on the M25.
