Drivers are being urged to avoid the M25 'at all costs' after a crash involving several vehicles left a lorry jackknifed across the road and resulted in a huge diesel spillage.
There are long delays and the anticlockwise carriageway is closed between junction 16 for the M40 and junction 15 for the M4 after the crash, which involved a lorry and several cars.
The crash is affecting traffic heading towards Heathrow airport and there is also a lane closed on the clockwise carriageway for emergency services.
Fire crews from Gerrards Cross are on the scene, and said there are fortunately only minor injuries despite the "heavy damage" to the vehicles involved.
The road is expected to remain closed while emergency services clean up the diesel spillage.
