The Marlow Dragon Boat Festival will return with a roar to the Marlow Town Regatta for the 18th year running in June.
The event – which dominates the second day of the annual regatta – will see teams adorned in fancy dress take to the Thames battle it out to become the ultimate dragon boat champions on Sunday, June 17.
No experience is necessary to join a team and entries are now open for the “fun and exciting” event which organisers say “brings Marlow alive”.
Teams can select 10 paddlers and one drummer for each race from a maximum of 15 per team. The helm will be provided by the team activity group.
Both novice and experienced teams are being invited to take part, with the race programme being made available on the day.
Each team will be given a full briefing on the day detailing how to paddle and control a dragon boat – so previous experience is not necessary.
Entry costs £320 for open and ladies teams and £265 for junior teams. Entry for spectators will be free with an array of other events taking place on the day.
