Bucks’ world-renowned spinal injuries centre will open its doors to the public this week to mark 70 years of the NHS.

Buckinghamshire NHS Trust is holding an open day at the National Spinal Injuries Centre (NSIC) at Stoke Mandeville Hospital on Thursday, June 14 from 4 to 7pm.

Healthcare professionals who are interested in working at the centre and members of the public who would like to find out more about the NSIC are encouraged to attend.

Allied health professional and outreach lead at NSIC, Hannah Proctor, said: “This open evening provides an exciting opportunity for health professionals and the public to come and visit, talk to staff and see examples of the amazing work that we do with patients at the National Spinal Injuries Centre.

“We have staff in a wide range of disciplines and there will be an opportunity to discuss the job vacancies that we have on offer in the unit, as well learn more about the roles of the specialist disciplines working in spinal injury care.”

This year BHT is celebrating 70 years of the NHS including the “many advances in healthcare” since the service was established in 1948.
