A school has been forced to shut this morning because a power cut has "seriously affected the safe running" of the school. 

Marsh Infant and Nursery School in Abbey Barn Road has had to shut because the phone system is down, door locks are not working and there is no running water. 

No hot lunches can also be served. 

A message on the school's Facebook page added: "Please come and collect your child from the usual places as soon as possible."

Traffic lights are also out at the retail park, according to eyewitnesses. 

Transport for Bucks has warned drivers to drive carefully and avoid the London Road if possible due to the traffic lights at Cock Lane and Micklefield junctions going out. 

They said: "Contractors are on there way to the scene. Please drive carefully in this area, and avoid if you can."
