Racing star Paddy Hopkirk joined hundreds of people to support a Beaconsfield garage and raise money for charity at the weekend.

A J Dunlop, in London End, hosted its ninth annual open day with classic cars and motorbikes on show for enthusiasts, raising around £2,700 for the MS Society – £600 more than last year.

Rally legend Mr Hopkirk made an appearance to show his support, as did Beaconsfield mayor Anita Cranmer.

Classic cars included the Jaguar XK150, a Jowet Jupiter, Ultima and McLaren.

Visitors were treated to live music, tea and cakes
Owner Alex Dunlop said: “It was absolutely fantastic. We had another great day.

“We were very pleased with the 250 people that came through the door and the weather was on our side.

“A big thanks to all the volunteers who helped us on the day and the people who came.

“It’s lovely to give them something back to enjoy, which they did.

“It was great that Paddy Hopkirk came – we invited him and he said he would like to come and support a local garage.

“The day has inspired us to get moving for next year’s event.”
