More than 500 artists and makers, including painters, ceramicists, glass workers, jewellery makers, photographers and print makers, are once again opening up their studios to the public for an impressive line-up of free demonstrations, hands-on workshops and exhibitions.

The largest visual arts event in Bucks, which has been rebranded this year as Bucks Art Weeks, launched on June 9 and will run until June 24.

Chair of Bucks Art Weeks, Susannah Fellows, said: “2018 is a special year - the year that we have decided to change our name to bring the word art back to its rightful place front and centre, and the year we tip our hat to the women makers and artists within our ranks in recognition of the centenary of women’s suffrage.

“We have an extraordinary range of skills and talent in our county – both women and men - and I hope, above all else, you will enjoy your experience of Bucks Art Weeks in this, our 33rd year.”

As 2018 is the centenary of women getting the vote, female artists across the county are being highlighted this year. Artists including Annet Stirling, a stonemason from Amersham and blacksmith Katie Wright will be showcasing their work throughout Bucks Art Weeks.
