The Rivertime Accessible Regatta made a triumphant return to Bisham this week as Paralympian and world record-holder Naomi Riches was named its patron.
The River Thames was brought to life as young rowers took to the water at Bisham Abbey Sports Centre on Wednesday.
The Rivertime Boat Trust announced last week that Naomi, who brought back gold after London’s 2012 Paralympics, had accepted its invitation to become a patron of the regatta, which was launched by the Princess Royal in Marlow last year.
Hundreds of children from schools across the Thames Valley took part in the event, which is aimed at children with disabilities and special needs aged eight to 15.
Naomi was joined by fellow Paralympians Jeanette Chippington, James Fox and Giedre Rakauskaite, while Sarah Newton, minister of state for disability, health and work, officially opened the regatta.
Spokesman Jane Ohlenschlager said: "It was a most fantastic day. It was such fun for all the kids, and the sport providers were thrilled.
"There was lots of laughter and many smiles - it was brilliant.
"We are delighted, it was a marvellous day for everyone involved."
