Each week our chief photographer, Anita Ross Marshall, picks her favourite shot from the archives. She writes:
Different types of photography require different strategies to try and get the best image. What makes sport so challenging and yet enjoyable is the element of having to be in the right place, at the right time, with the right camera settings.
Normally you're free to wander in search of that perfect picture, but with sport you are given a spot and told to stay there.
The key is to understand the sport itself and where its hight of action will be and see if you can negotiate that spot nearer to the action.
