Although we appreciate the beauty, grace and aerobatics of Red Kites, we in Spinfield Lane, Marlow, now seem to be overwhelmed with them.

Most days we have one, two, or three, Red Kites perched in adjacent tall trees, calling loudly from early morning to late evening.

This continuous singing causes us to close windows, but the noise still penetrates our double glazing.

Please see ‘Red Kites 180611’ on YouTube for a two-minute example.

These birds do not seem to conduct themselves like this in the countryside, but are now doing so in our urban area.

We would, therefore, like to try to dissuade the Kites from their persistent and monotonous shrieking, which we find is not only noisy, but is now become discomforting and depressing.

So, do any BFP readers know of any humane and harmless ways of detracting these birds away from our local habitat?’
