Two schools came together to help families in need after being inspired to get involved following a plea for food donations in the Bucks Free Press.
Khalsa Academy in Stoke Poges and Curzon Combined C of E in Amersham came together as part of an inter-faith project to help One Can Trust with much-needed supplies of food for children in the Bucks area amid a summer supply crisis.
In June, the Bucks Free Press told how the charity was running “drastically low” on supplies heading into their busiest time of the year.
Volunteers at the foodbank say summer is a “really tough time” for individuals and families who may struggle to put food on the table – especially during the summer holidays when children are not able to have meals at school.
The Sikh school provided toiletries and vegetarian food while Curzon donated vegetarian and non-vegetarian items.
Graham Peart, trustee of One Can Trust, visited Khalsa Academy to meet pupils and collect the donations.
