A High Wycombe road has had to be cordoned off by police this afternoon after an apparent burst water pipe created an "ever-growing" hole in the road.
Mendy Street has been shut off and police are on the scene.
An eyewitness said it is a burst water pipe that has caused a hole to appear and Thames Water have been called.
A spokesman for Thames Water said: “We were called to deal with a burst on a three-inch pipe at 12.15pm and a team of engineers is currently on the way to carry out a repair.
"The road has been closed for everyone’s safety. We’re sorry for any inconvenience this will cause.”
