The heartbroken wife of a motorcyclist who tragically died after a motorway slip road crash was joined by more than 50 cyclists in a procession to her husband’s funeral.

More than 300 people turned out to pay their respects to Cookham resident Edmond Lee, known by most as Eddy, who was killed on the M4 last month after being hit while travelling to work.

The 46-year-old’s family say he was a “lover of the outdoors”, cycling 550 miles to his wedding in Scotland with wife Ciara four years ago.

Mrs Lee felt cycling 18km to his memorial, joined by his friends, colleagues and team mates from Longridge Canoe Club in Marlow, was a “fitting tribute” to her “athletic” husband.

She said he had a “strong belief that there is space for everyone on Britain’s roads, if people use them safely”.

Mr Lee leaves behind a two-year-old son who “loved” being cycled to his nursery in Bourne End on the front of his dad’s bike.

His family thanked Arnold’s Funeral Service in Marlow, GreenAcres Chiltern and the couple’s “special riverside community”.
