TRAFFIC in Woodford New Road has been disrupted for the second time in a week following an accident.

The road has been cordoned off by police this morning after a double-decker bus collided with Ford Fiesta at 8.20am.

The bus had no passengers at the time as it was being used for driver training. A roadside wall was also damaged in the accident, which took place close to the junction with Oakhurst Court.

An ambulance and a fast response car attended the scene. The trainee driver, who is believed to have been standing when the crash happened, and the driver of the Fiesta were both taken to Whipps Cross University Hospital. However no-one is thought to have been seriously injured.

Police are investigating how the crash occurred, but have no arrests have been made.

Last Tuesday the same road was closed after a woman was hit by a car outside the former Rising Sun pub. Her injuries, which included a broken leg, were not life-threatening.
