Robert on the road to the lost city

MANAGING director Robert Wright will be in search of more than the ancients, when he embarks on a charity trek along the testing Inca trail in Peru.

The 56-year-old from Wychelm Farm, Chesham, hopes to raise more than £4,000 for Action Research, and to do so he will have to complete a gruelling hike along the ancient route in October, taking him to the lost city of Machu Picchu at 14,000ft.

Robert, a managing director of Wright Building Supplies in High Wycombe, said: "The event will involve trekking six to eight hours daily, challenging the 80 or so participants to the limit, through dense cloud, forest, and sub-tropical vegetation."

Most of the £3,000 already raised was achieved with barbecues and an auction of promises in June which included entertainment by the Germains Male Voice Choir.
