Council boss: we will save taxpayers' cash

A COUNCIL boss has pledged to slash red tape to save ratepayers after being re-elected leader.
There should been no change in the top posts at Buckinghamshire County Council, members agreed today.
Leader David Shakespeare hailed the councils' work in education, social care and recycling at today's meeting of the council.
The council's new £5.3m library for Wycombe, set to open on June 2, was a major achievement, he said.
And he pledged to save cash by having councils share jobs through the "Pathfinder" scheme.
He said: "I cannot emphasis how important it is to press ahead and achieve the savings we know it is possible to make.
"It simply has to succeed, not only for our partners, but for the residents whom we all serve."
It is the eighth year as leader for the Ryemead, Tylers Green and Loudwater councillor.
Bill Chapple (Aston Clinton) will stay as leader deputy leader.
