'Inspirational' Wycombe fundraiser nominated for award

A HIGH Wycombe woman has been nominated for Britain's Most Inspiring Fundraiser award after raising more than £324,000 in just four years.

Jenny Rooke, chair of trustees at Puzzle Preschool Charitable Trust, could also receive an extra £20,000 for the children's autism charity if she wins the award.

The competition, run by charity search engine Everyclick.com, is held in memory of late cancer sufferer Jane Tomlinson, who raised more than £1.75m for cancer charities.

Puzzle director Alexandra Stanyer said: "Jenny has done a tremendous amount to secure the long-term future of our charity.

"Without Jenny's drive, vision and selflessness, Puzzle could not have continued to grow, develop and offer families struggling to come to terms with their child's difficulties the help, support, and specialist education that they need."

Puzzle works towards early intervention for pre-school children diagnosed with autism.

Its patron, John Bercow MP, added: "Jenny's tireless devotion to the cause of raising funds to support children with Special Education Needs is an example to us all."

Everyclick.com is an internet search engine that donates money to the user's chosen charity each time the site is used. It has raised more than £435,000 for UK charities.

Everyclick.com founder Polly Gowers said: "The competition is all about recognising and commending the fantastic efforts of the thousands of volunteer fundraisers across the UK, who selflessly give up their time and energy to raise money for causes that are close to their hearts."
