A CHARITY is asking for you to give it your underwear so it can send them to Africa.
But High Wycombe-based Knickers 4 Africa only want new pairs.
It is the brainchild of old school friends Emma Donovan and Celia Talbot, who have collected more than 8,000 pairs of underwear already.
Ms Donovan returned from charity work in Sierra Leone having seen a desperate need for underwear.
So she contacted Ms Talbot and decided to set up the charity.
Ms Donovan said: "Once I got home I spoke with a friend of mine that grew up in Tanzania and we decided to try and help.
"We came up with a tag line which we think explains our actions perfectly: 'Underwear is a necessity. No-one deserves the humiliation of having to buy someone else's used pants.'"
The charity are also appealing for money, children's clothes or volunteers.
The launch party will be held at Hawkins Farm, in Frieth Road, Marlow, on June 14.
There will be various attractions including The Knicker Lady, a pig roast, a chocolate fountain and an underwear fashion show.
African music, singing and dancing will also be on display.
Launch tickets are available at £15 or £20. For more information visit the website at www.knickers4africa.moonfruit.com
