APPRENTICE hopeful Lee McQueen has made it through to the final and is in with a chance of becoming Alan Sugar's protégé.
In a shock decision, multimillionaire Sugar decided that he would only fire one of the candidates. At the show's outset he had given a clear indication that three of them would be shown the door.
The contestants were put through a rigorous screening this week, squaring up against a team of dogged interviewers.
Lee got off to a bad start when his screaming dinosaur impression marked him out as an unprofessional candidate to one of Sugar's pit-bulls.
Things went from bad to worse, when a cursory examination of his CV revealed a catalogue of spelling errors. Of note was his use of "recoingsed" instead of "recognised" prompting his interviewer to note that he hadn't used a spellchecker.
More serious were his claims that he had attended Thames Valley University for two years. A background check revealed that he had only completed four months of his course.
However, this was not enough to spoil his chances, and the Princes Risborough lad will be battling it out in the finale.
Aromatherapy enthusiast Lucinda Ledgerwood walked away from the board room, as Sugar felt he needed someone more down to earth.
