ROTARIAN Malcolm Boddington has taken over as district governor of the group across four counties, including Buckinghamshire.
More than 100 Rotarians and their partners gathered at the Holiday Inn at Handy Cross, High Wycombe to see district governor for 2007-8 Tony Bacon hand over the chain of office to Mr Boddington.
Mr Boddington is a member of the Rotary Club of Reading Maiden Erlegh and works for the Victim Support charity.
In his new role, he will now oversee the duty of 2,000 men and women rotarians who make up the members of 60 clubs across Bucks, Oxfordshire, Berkshire and Middlesex, as they focus on this year's international theme of Make Dreams Real.
During the hand over ceremony, held on the last day of the Rotary year last Monday, he told his audience what he wants to focus on throughout his year as governor.
This included reducing infant mortality throughout the world, supporting the international project for education in Uganda and matching the $100 million donation made by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation to the Polio Eradication Programme.
