A SHOP window in Hazlemere was completely smashed after two teenagers fell through it.

The thick glass frontage of Filippo's hairdressers in Rose Avenue was destroyed at around 8.20pm tonight.

Both of boys involved in the accident were left with cuts to their hands.

Residents visiting neighbouring shops described hearing a crash before rushing outside to see what had happened.

One mum who was visiting the Co-op at the time, and did not wish to be named, said: "When I came there was a bunch of kids standing around outside and when I went into the shop I just heard a crash."

Police at the scene said the accident happened when the two teens were "messing around" outside the hairdressers.

Sergeant Richard Beard attended the scene.

He said: "It would appear there were two youths messing around outside a plate glass window, which is a very silly thing to do, and they've both gone through the window.

"They have both got slight cuts to their hands. Obviously glass being glass it's lucky it wasn't somewhere else."

No arrests were made.

If I had quoted "there WAS a bunch of kids...", I think I too wouldn't want to be named!

Mind you, the policeman's "glass being glass" comment is just as ridiculous!

So much for the youth of today, they would be better indoors playing with their computer games!

If they like plate glass windows so much perhaps they should visit the complex!

Wonder if the two boys messing about also wrote the graffiti on the shop wall.

Don't you people ever sleep? Do you sit by your computers all night waiting for something interesting like glass breaking or policemen with funny names? You completely missed the excitement of a car (brown) demolishing a wall (brick) at the bottom of Hammersley Lane. Hope no-one was hurt. The air ambulance may or may not have attended, delays were probably caused on London Road and the policemen most probably had quite amusing names.

The shop owner will probably be forced to pay the little bleeps compensation.

It takes a fair amount of force to break a window like that, I ran at a closed patio door once (didn't know it was closed, the glass was very clean!) practically knocked myself out in the process, and yet the glass was fine, bar my face print on it.

I've also seen someone thrown at a shop window in town, and it didn't break.

These kids certainly didn't just fall through it.

No, not paint again - everyone will start banging on about the pink Fire Station doors.

I'd vote for that result, shame they didn't tidy up as well before they were sent to Stoke Mandaville.
