A RESTAURANT has been granted a licence to sell alcohol for 37 consecutive hours over the New Year holiday.
The Shoko Thai Restaurant in High Street, Great Missenden, applied to Chiltern District Council to be allowed to serve alcohol and play recorded music between 10am on New Year's Eve and 11pm the following day.
This evening the council gave permission for owner Foysol Ahmed to open the restaurant for that period of time, subject to conditions being met.
These include alcohol only being sold with meals bought on the premises, customers not being allowed to leave with alcoholic drinks and for music to be played at an appropriate level.
The council did not receive any objections from residents to the licence being granted.
