"UFOs" spotted over Bourne End

BAFFLED Bourne End residents are asking for help to dentify unexplained flying objects they spotted in the sky last night.

Huw Meredith was with his family at around 11.30pm last night when he they saw 30 to 40 orange lights travelling north west above their home in Southbourne Drive.

His neighbours also saw the strange phenomenon.

Mr Meredith, 49, said: "They were in clusters of between 1 and 5 or 6 and each light took about 30 to 45 seconds to pass over us.

"In total we saw them for about 15 minutes. There was no sound at all and there was very little wind at ground level.

"Some of the lights occasionally passed above the first lowest layer of cloud and were temporarily obscured.

"Weather conditions good and no one was drunk - honest!

"Can you help us to satisfy our curiosity at all? Has anyone else spotted them? Are there any little green men in the town hall?"

Perhaps the lights were from the Booker bombers coming in to land at the aerodrome?

They are not UFOS. They are lanterns that are given off.. You write your message on them and light them into the air. It is ment to be good luck. I think it originates from the thai tradition.

This happened last year, it was the lanterns as already stated...they are lucky unless they land in a cornfield and set fire to it (hmm, I've seen that story somewhere!)

Unless the UFO's are so advanced that they need candles to see where they are going
