A RECRUITMENT drive for more special constables in Thames Valley has been launched.
An advertising campaign will see posters put up in health clubs, bars and restaurants in Bucks.
It is part of a wider campaign also targeting Berkshire and Oxfordshire.
The campaign aims to help the force hit its target of having 300 specials by the end of next March, compared with the current 240.
Special constables must be aged 18 or above, a citizen of the UK, EU or Commonwealth countries and have no criminal record.

Hey BFP, how about posting a copy of this poster, or at least a link to it? Do "special constables" get to sit on Marlow hill "monitoring traffic"?

Good for them.
But surely this story is really about cuts in policing, disguised as improvemetns - as with PCOS. More people, but fewer "proper" police.
