Two injured in four-vehicle collision

A MAN had to be cut out of his car after being involved a four-vehicle collision today.

Two people were injured in the crash which happened on the A40 at Piddington at around 9am.

Two fire crews from High Wycombe and one from Princes Risborough attended the scene.

Crew manager Luke Brown from High Wycombe said: "It looked like there had been a head-on collision. Two male adults were released before we got there and a female was released injured.

"There was a male adult, the driver of a 4x4, trapped. We had to remove the roof of the car to help paramedics. He had dislocated his knee I think."

The section of the road remained closed for more than an hour causing tailbacks, he added.

Police spokesman Carley Sparrow said two men were taken by hospital to Stoke Mandeville Hospital - one for surgery on a knee injury and another with minor injuries.

A woman was treated for minor injuries on the scene.
