A CAR driver has been taken to hospital with head injuries following a multi-vehicle pile-up on the M40.
The man, in his 20s, was injured in the crash shortly after 8am on the northbound carriageway between the Denham Roundabout and the junction with the M25.
Four cars, two lorries and a van were involved in the smash which forced the closure of two lanes northbound.
Marc Lister from the South Central Ambulance Service said: "Everybody was dealt with at the scene by the ambulance crews apart from one man in his 20s who was taken to Wexham Park with head injuries.
"With all head injuries we treat them as serious until proven otherwise."
The man has just been x-rayed, and doctors are waiting for the results.
Mr Lister said that ambulance crews were on the scene within two minutes.
The crash caused long tailbacks, which have now cleared according to the Highways Agency.
