HOT AIR?: More than 500 balloons were released to celebrate the amalgamation of a Woolwich school. Pupils at Eglinton Primary School, in Whitworth Road, held the balloon race to mark the joining of their infant and junior schools. Eglinton is the final school in Greenwich borough to complete the switch. The cheering children, wearing their new blue and white school uniform, were joined by staff, parents and school governors. The new school will receive a major investment in the next two years, to develop an Early Years Centre on the school site, and upgrade the Victorian building for the 21st century
