A PUPIL was taken to hospital with burns after an incident at Holmer Green Secondary School.

The pupil was taken to Stoke Mandeville hospital after an ambulance was called to the school at around midday on Wednesday.

The school in Parish Piece, along with the County Council, refused to say how the boy was injured.

David Gilbert, head of Holmer Green Senior School, said: "I can confirm that one of our pupils was treated for minor burns at Stoke Mandeville Hospital, following a mishap which did not involve anyone else.

"I am happy to report that the young person concerned is expected to return to school very soon and wants to put this in the past and get on with school life."
