THE mystery of Micklefield's disappearing cats continues after another feline friend was reported missing.
Sarah Maulicino and her family have been left distraught after their tiny five-month-old kitten Elli disappeared on Saturday.
Sarah, from Tilling Crescent, is particularly worried for Elli's health as she worn born prematurely and has difficulty breathing.
The BFP was contacted by another cat lover from Micklefield, who wished to remain anonymous, who said she had heard of four moggies disappearing from the area - including her own furry friend.
Sarah, 34, read about the mysterious moggie disappearances in today's paper and contacted our newsdesk.
She said: "I read the story and thought 'oh my God'. It just seems very strange that it's in one particular area."
Elli was at last seen on the evening of Halloween in the family's living room.
"On the Saturday we noticed we hadn't seen her feeding," Sarah said,
"As soon as we noticed my boys went out looking for her, shouting up the garden but there was no sign of her.
"I don't confine my cats, we have a cat flap so the can go in and out. Elli doesn't normally go beyond the garden, not unless we go out and she tries to follow us. She's an indoor cat.
"She's a very friendly cat so she would basically go to anyone, but no one has seen her or seems to know anything."
Sarah has reported her disappearance to vets and cat rescue centres, as well as putting a sign in a nearby shop, and is also planning on printing missing posters to display around Micklefield.
She said: "It's really important to find her because she's got ongoing vet problems. She's got breathing difficulties and I've already spent about £300 on her.
"She's not been very well since the day she was born."
The mum-of-three said her four-year-old daughter Bethany was particularly upset about Eli's disappearance.
She said: "It's the children that are really missing her the most.
"We have taken her to the vet on a number of occasions and she sits on my daughter's lap in the car."
