SNAKES and boredom will be the two biggest challenges in the Australian outback for Cookham celebrity Timmy Mallett, his wife Lynda said today.
Speaking just minutes before flying out to the Southern hemisphere to join Timmy, who is starring in popular ITV show, I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here, she said he will not be phased by many of the jungle trials.
“He's good in the outdoors, he's slept on the trampoline in the garden so he's practised that and he'll be okay with the creepy crawlies.
“It's amazing when you have the pressure of 10 million people watching what you will do, you'll do anything. They want to prove themselves.”
She added that snakes were probably his biggest fear.
Timmy, who has been a reserve on previous series of the show, was sent into the jungle with pop-singer David Van Day to join ten other celebs.
Lynda said Timmy, who concentrates on his art work, will be missing his easel and paints before long: “He can't take any of it in so I don't know how he's going to get on with the boredom factor.”
She said she had been voting for Robert Kilroy-Silk, who has so far had to take on most of the daily 'bush tucker trials', but believes it is time for one of the other contestants to step up: “It's become tedious seeing him do every one – we want to see someone who is going to scream.”
