Updated: Raid at Marlow jewellery store

RAIDERS have struck at a Marlow jewellers this afternoon.

Witnesses have described seeing two men jump out of a Mercedes car and smash the window at the Marlow Jewellers on the corner of High Street and Institute Road.

Police said three men ran into the store, one armed with a hammer and another with a crow bar.

The men then stole jewellery before fleeing the scene. The Mercedes is believed to have headed off in the direction of Marlow Bridge.

One man was taken to Wycombe Hospital with arm injuries following the attack.

Sophie Weatherstone, who was working in a nearby shop, said: "It was scary because it was happening right there in front of our shop."

Police believe the car may have been parked in Institute Road for 20 to 30 minutes before the raid and have appealed for anyone with information to contact DS Andy Mottau at Wycombe Police Station on 0845 8 505 505.

Updates to follow.

Let’s hope the rascals who committed such an awful crime are caught.

Perhaps the powers that be should bring some PCSO’s into the area to deter the criminals?

The robbers must have been very clumsy if they broke the window on the door (which I was assume was unlocked because the robbery took place in the afternnon and the shop must have been open) when they went in!
