Snow cancels crunch Holywell Mead council meeting

A CRUNCH meeting to discuss cutting council services including Holywell Mead swimming pool has been cancelled.

Wycombe District Council’s cabinet was due to meet tonight to discuss the raft of cuts needed to save £2m.

The plans have been out for consultation for two months ahead of a decision being made on February 24.

Council leader Lesley Clarke said another meeting would take place before the 24th to put the Tory administration’s plans before public scrutiny.

For more details of the cuts see the links, bottom right.

Steve Guy, spokesman for Wycombe Liberal Democrats, who has campaigned against the closure, said: “I hope it will be rescheduled for a reasonably close date.”

Seems like Cllr "Cuts" Clarke and her Tory cronies ares still on a mission to destroy heritage of town of Wycombe
What consultation is has been taken place-- Ive seen no attempt from Tory council to consult with residents on what they want !!!!!

Typical of a missed opportunity by the Council. It could have doubled as a skating rink in this sort of weather. Councillors should wise up to cancelling meetings, we public might become aware that councillors and their meetings are not essential.

There hasn't been any consultation, the key, is to keep it quiet and ask stakeholders,(intere
sted parties). You don't think we live in a democracy do you?
